Porthole
Put part of a web page in Notification Center
Porthole is a macOS menu bar app that captures a region of any web page or local HTML file and displays it as a Notification Center widget. Define a rectangle directly in the preview, or target an element with a CSS selector. Scheduled and manual refresh keep the widget image current.

Clip only what matters, then keep it close.
Web pages, internal HTML, local dashboards. Pick the region you need and keep it visible as a widget.
Web page region capture
Load a URL and use the preview overlay to capture only the area you need. Turn live page content into a compact Web Clip for your desktop widgets.
Rectangle and CSS selector modes
Use Rectangle mode for a fixed capture area, or Selector mode to capture the first element matching a CSS selector. A fallback rectangle is used when the selector is not found.
Local HTML support
Choose local HTML files as capture sources. You can grant a read access root for relative assets, and file references are stored as security-scoped bookmarks.
Three widget sizes
Small, Medium, and Large Notification Center widgets are supported. Choose the clip from widget settings, and remote URL clips open the source page in your browser when clicked.
Automatic and manual refresh
While the app is running, clips are re-captured at their configured refresh intervals. You can also refresh the selected clip manually from the menu bar or settings window.
Bilingual UI and launch at login
The interface supports Japanese and English. Launch-at-login keeps Porthole ready to refresh the Web Clips you rely on.
